We have taken ten major international team events, reflecting a wide range of major team sports and ranked nations according to their performance across those sports.
At the end of each December we will draw a line in the sand and declare who the leading sporting nation is at that moment in time.

As you can see below, the top ranked sporting nation in the world at the end of December 2007 is the USA, with Australia 2nd and Germany 3rd.
